BrainPond History
Work on BrainPond LLC products and services begain in early 2005. The concepts used in its framework and design are based on experiences of teachers. The core premise is that educators will use tools that help their students achieve performance and mastery goals.

BrainPond LLC consists of several websites and offers more than just a static website on the Internet. BrainPond.com, for example, provides tools to teachers to design their own websites easily while being visually stimulating. It is an integrated solution written in PHP, HTML, and Javascript using MySql databases. Tools integrated include: a wysiwyg editor (Windows version), clip art, background images, color and formatting options and more. Two calendars are available per teacher (private and public) where events can be entered on any date and viewed online or printed. Students can view the public calendar as a selection for their teacher using a public calendar on BrainPond.com.

A special email system has been developed and integrated into BrainPond too. If a teacher sets a flag in their web profile to allow students to send them email, then students can go to the teacher's website and send a message to the teacher. (A copy goes back to the student.) That email information is stored on in the teacher's BrainPond message record which can be accessed by the teacher and responded to by the teacher. (The system knows which messages belong to a teacher and will only allow that teacher to see and reply to messages to that teacher.) A trigger event occurs when a student sends a message to the BrainPond.com system that causes a copy of the message to be sent to the teacher via blindcopy. A blindcopy ensures that the teacher's personal email is not seen by the student as long as the teacher replys via the BrainPond.com message center.

Other tools have been developed on BrainPond.com. Resources are included on the StudentPond subject link pages which are owned by others. The purpose for these links is to do much of the research that teachers usually do looking for certain resources. We have created a free repository of those resources.

The systems used by BrainPond.com are located in the Micfo.com DataCenter.
